The Norwegian Government has decided to build a polar research vessel which will be owned by the Norwegian Polar Institute on behalf of the Norwegian Government. IMR will be the operator of the Vessel.

The scope of the contract:

To build, construct, outfit, test and deliver a polar research vessel, approx 100 m length, with the following DNV Class:

DNV + 1A1, E0, RP, NAUT-OSV, CLEAN DESIGN, PC-3 Icebreaker, DAT(-35ºC), WINTERIZED BASIC, HELDK-SHF, DYNPOS-AUTS, COMF-V(3)/C(2),DK(+)

according to the attached Building Specification with corresponding basic design and technical specification.
