This assignment is a framework contract with as subject: performing traffic analysis, drawing up micro simulations, designing V-plans for light-controlled intersections.

The Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV) is responsible for, among other things, managing the Flemish regional roads. There are approximately 1,700 lights-controlled intersections along these regional roads.

These +/- 1 700 intersections each have their own V-plan where the logic of the light control and the placement of detection, traffic lights, stop lines are [...] described.

As a road manager, AWV is responsible for drawing up the V plans for the intersections in its management. When drawing up these V plans, the aim is to achieve optimum safety and traffic flow for all modes and to achieve any specific objectives for 1 or more modes. Prior to the preparation of the V-plan, traffic analysis and simulations may also be necessary in order to map out possible solutions and to analyze and simulate the feasibility of the solutions.
