It is proposed to implement framework agreements with the suppliers of these products. It will not be possible to standardise on the products from a single supplier as each trust has their own specific requirements determined by their trust policies.

The contract will be for:

Amino Acid Infusions;

Lipid Infusions;

Trace Element Injections;

Vitamin Injections;

Multi compartment bags (eg three chamber bags containing amino acids, lipid and glucose solutions in separate compartments);

Empty infusion bags.

The contract will not include:

Concentrated electrolytes eg Potassium Chloride injection, Calcium Chloride Injection etc.

Glucose Infusions.

As these are covered by CMU contracts.

This contract will not include the provision of ready made patient specific bags as these form part of another tender.

All products offered must either have a UK Marketing Authorisation or carry a CE mark as appropriate.
