Use of prevention teams

Vestische Straßenbahnen GmbH introduces prevention teams with the following objectives:

1) increasing the subjective and objective safety for our customers and for our drivers;

2) support for the driver at selected times;

3) and the resulting increase in employee satisfaction.

Each prevention team is made up of two security personnel and one member of staff from the Vestics.

The selected and assigned security personnel must be certified security forces with several years of professional experience in public transport.

All employed personnel are clearly identifiable by their service clothing for customers and drivers. The safety experts are equipped by the service provider with eye-catching safety clothing.

Each team will be equipped with a passenger vehicle (vehicle) of the Vestische Straßenbahnen for the entire operating time.

Action priorities of the prevention team, in addition to supporting the driver in critical situations, are also the general ride in the line vehicles in order to clearly demonstrate the vehicle's presence through the presence of the security forces. Where appropriate, security checks will also randomly carry out ticket inspections in the COM.

In order to be able to ensure the presence of the prevention teams in the complete operating area of the Vestische Straßenbahnen at the same time short reaction times and reaction paths, three teams are used in parallel.

The local operational priorities of the prevention teams are the ZOB Recklinghausen, the ZOB Gelsenkirchen-Buer and the ZOB Bottrop.

The deployment times of the teams are Fridays, Saturdays, pre-holidays and possibly other special duty days. The teams are deployed in one shift from about 8:00 pm to 4:00 am of the following day.

Within the contract period, approximately 260 days of service are planned.

The security forces deployed must fulfill and demonstrate at least the following qualification profile:

- completed training as a service employee or specialist in protection and safety,

- successful participation in a de-escalation training / education,

- training as a first responder,

- Participation in a fire protection course.

At least one master of protection and security must be present in the team of security forces per day of operation.
