The act regarding the responsibility of public agencies to use interpreters, etc. (Interpreter Act), which came into force on 1 January 2022. The Act regulates the responsibility of public agencies to use interpreters. Quality-assured data on the implementation of the Interpreter Act and the compliance of public agencies with the statutory provisions therein is needed. Furthermore, knowledge about the needs of public agencies for interpretation in different languages is needed.

IMDi would like to have the following two issues clarified:

1. Interpretation monitor LAW: To what extent do public agencies comply with the provisions in the Interpreter Act and the regulations regarding interpretation?

2. Interpretation monitor LANGUAGE: How great is the need of public agencies for interpretation in different languages, and which languages should be prioritised for different qualification offers in interpretation?
