Ekom21 intends to use SAP Analytics Cloud Services from June 1st, 2021.

The subject of the tender includes the delivery, installation and setup of the SAP Analytics Cloud platform including documentation, provision and setup of all roles and competencies for access to the cloud application, initial commissioning including test operation, implementation of training courses and subsequent system service.

The ekom21 - municipal area computing center Hessen (ekom21) is a corporation under public law according to the Hessian data processing network law (DV-VerbundG). It is the central IT service provider for the Hessian municipalities and their facilities. From the locations in Gießen, Darmstadt and Kassel, it provides your end customers with all kinds of modern information and communication services (ICT).

The approximately 500 members in Hessen and other customers nationwide include around 29,000 end users from local government and other public institutions, such as B. rural districts, cities, municipalities, municipal companies, special purpose associations, institutions, hospitals and homes. In the state sector, ekom21 supports numerous regional associations, ministries and regional councils. In total, ekom21 provides services for 6 million citizens.

The range of tasks of ekom21 is growing and changing continuously, which is accompanied by a constant increase in the number of employees. Ekom21 currently employs around 600 people.

As an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, the ekom21 has been using SAP software and modules (e.g. accounting and logistics) for business-relevant areas in a form that is adapted to the special needs of the ekom21. The SAP business system ECC 6.0 (no EHP) with the modules:

- SD,

- IM (budgeting only).

In 2020 the licenses were upgraded to SAP S4 / HANA "Enterprise Edition". This means that the ekom21 is set to a specific technological system for the business system, namely the SAP software. The intended award of the contract is therefore not about switching to a new or different cloud solution that is offered as Software as a Service (SaaS) for business intelligence (BI), planning purposes and predictive analyzes, but rather about implementing SAP Cloud solution with exhaustion of optimization potential and adjustments to the needs of ekom21.
