The contract has as its object the assignment of the School Lunch Service with reduced environmental impact for pupils and teachers of Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Schools, Municipal Summer Centers and Home Meal Delivery for elderly people – period 01/09/2023 – 31/08/2026 for the Municipality of Somma Lombardo.
The nature and type of catering services are described in the Special Specifications and its annexes.
Art. 1 - Object of the contract
The contract has as its object the assignment of the School Lunch Service with reduced environmental impact for pupils and teachers of Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Schools, Municipal Summer Centers and Home Meal Delivery for elderly people – period 01/09/2023 – 31/08/2026 for the Municipality of Somma Lombardo.
The nature and type of catering services are described in these Special Specifications and its annexes which form an integral part thereof.
Art. 2 - Duration of the contract
The contract has a duration of 3 school years and precisely from 01/09/2023 to 31/08/2026. The school meal service must be guaranteed in compliance with the school calendar of each year. The lunch service in summer camps must be guaranteed in the months of June and July according to the calendar annually defined by the municipal offices. Meals at home must be provided continuously.
Pursuant to art. 35 c. 4 of Legislative Decree 50/2016, the Municipality reserves the right to renew the contract, at the end of the expiry of the same, under the same contractual or improvement conditions up to a maximum of a further 2 years, without interruption with the main contract. Any renewal will last from 01/09/2026 to 31/08/2028.
Pursuant to art. 106 c. 11 of Legislative Decree 50/2016, the Municipality reserves the right to extend the technical contract for a maximum of six months at the natural expiry of the contract, and in any case for the time strictly necessary for the conclusion of the procedures necessary for the identification of the new contractor, started before the expiry of the contract. In this case, the contracting party is obliged to perform the services covered by the contract at the same prices, agreements and conditions or more favorable to the Municipality.
Art. 3 - Centers of production and distribution of meals
The users of the Municipality of Somma Lombardo, to date, is composed of the various school complexes and distribution centers listed in the attached prospectus "Organizational model of the service" ANNEXES A.

It is specified that the Contractor is required to use, for the management of the service referred to in these Specifications, only and exclusively the Cooking Center in Via Marconi. Any use of another alternative Cooking Centre must be agreed in advance with the Municipality, and must take place only in exceptional cases, which may compromise the regular use of the Cooking Centre (e.g. blackout, interruptions in the water supply ...).
For this purpose, the winning company is required to have an Emergency Cooking Center for the entire duration of the contract, located at a distance such as to provide a journey time not exceeding 30 minutes from the Municipality of Somma Lombardo. The alternative cooking center must be duly authorized for the production and packaging of meals by the Municipality and must be equipped with a residual production capacity of at least 1000 meals.
The conveyance of meals must in any case comply with the procedures indicated in these Specifications. The use of the alternative Cooking Centre must be communicated, justified and agreed in the times and in the manner with the competent Municipal Offices.
