The crystallization range is divided into 3 lots.
1. With a screen robot, ready-made reservoir solutions for crystallization are mixed with stock solutions (10-50 mL) on a 10 mL scale. These reservoir solutions are transferred to 96 deepwell plates (2 mL scale). The solutions are transferred from the Deepwell plates into 96 and 24 crystallization plates (20-200? l scale). For 24 crystallization plates, crystallization approaches from reservoir solution and protein solution should also be pipetted (1-2? l scale).
2. With a crystallization robot, the reservoir solutions are transferred from the deepwell plates into 96 crystallization plates (20-200? l scale). After that, the crystallization approaches from reservoir solution and protein solution are pipetted (0.05-1? l scale).
3. The crystallization plates are stored temperature-controlled with an imaging system with a connected plate hotel. Highly enlarged images of the crystallization approaches are taken in an automated way and provided to the user for assessment.
