The nursing profession fulfils a core task in Dutch healthcare. It is the largest professional group in healthcare in the Netherlands and is an important part of keeping healthcare in good quality and affordable. For better quality of care, more appreciation, job satisfaction and retention of the nursing profession, it is important that this group has sufficient control. In this context, control is about the possibility of influencing decisions that affect the daily practice of the profession (e.g. organisation of care or administration) or matters related to professional practice (preconditions for work, e.g. training policy and personal development). For the monitoring of formal and perceived control, this European Tender is set out. The focus will be on the perceived control, so that the monitor can actually offer starting points for improving control.
