The Norwegian Armed Forces would like to use this procurement to secure supplies of mountain canvases, with associated products and services. Supplies are to be secured for two types of canvases: Mountain canvases with lining and mountain canvases without lining.
The objective of the framework agreement is to cover the contracting authority’s need for mountain canvases. Supplies are to be secured for two types of canvases:
- Mountain canvases with lining
- Mountain canvases without lining
A mountain canvas is a multi-functional canvas that is used in all parts of the Norwegian Armed Forces, with camouflage that is suitable for Norwegian mountain conditions. The mountain canvas is the soldier's primary survival equipment and it shall protect the soldier from the elements when tents are unavailable. It can also be used in a combination with a tent. The mountain canvas can be opened and closed by zips or other fastenings so that it can be either be used as a wind sack/emergency bivouac or as a canvas/baldachin.
Mountain canvases can also be used as a reinforcement for clothing and equipment, such as ponchos, as protective covers for protection from precipitation and to camouflage equipment, or as a tarpaulin under the groundsheet to act as a barrier against damp from the ground, or for transporting wounded persons.
The procurement will also cover spare parts/accessories and assistance with the development and further development of the products under the framework agreement.
