This procurement aims to:

(1) further widen the FCH 2 JU geographical coverage by selecting and bringing a set of at least 15 projects from Cohesion Countries, Outermost Regions and Islands in general, bringing new Hydrogen flagships to a high level of preparedness;

(2) provide regions and cities the necessary technical, financial and legal services;

(3) further develop the existing inter-regional, inter-island and cross-city networks in which both the selected regions and cities and its Observer Network could benefit from tools, methods and expertise gathered in both the first and the current project development assistance;

(4) boost the chances of grant funding and financing support by raising awareness among the relevant Regional and National European Structural and Investment Funds’ (ESIF) managing authorities as well as any promotional bank or specifically tailored commercial bank willing to increase their exposure to hydrogen projects with a local impact.
