Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons and organisations to tender for the Council's dog control and kennelling service.
Charnwood Borough covers an area of 27 930 hectares and has population of over 170 000 people. Just over one third of the population lives in the university town of Loughborough and of the remaining two thirds, many live in larger villages/ small towns of the Soar and Wreake valleys and on the edge of Leicester.
The contract will run from 1.4.2017 to 31.3.2021 with the option to extend on 2 occasions of 12 months.
It will entail the seizure and kennelling of strays and dangerous dogs within and outside of normal working hours and the promotion of responsible dog ownership.
The contract will include reuniting dogs with owners and providing a facility for the collection of strays.
