The client, Städtische Bäder Wesel GmbH, intends to build a new combined pool on the site of the current outdoor pool. This building has both reinforced concrete ceilings and prefabricated wooden ceilings. A 2-layer bituminous waterproofing was chosen as the seal. These are flat roof construction methods. Some of the building will receive extensive green roofs. The sports pool & adventure pool halls are designed by means of steel-spanned beams and pre-elemented roof elements, partly with acoustic panels, course & teaching swimming pool with trusses and pre-elemented roof elements. Furthermore, partial areas for a possible later increase in the stairwells and in the elevator shaft are to be designed as wooden beam ceilings.
In the sauna garden, an elevated sauna house is planned to be accessible via a wooden walkway. This sauna building is planned as a timber frame construction with outdoor entrance area and sauna interior. The planking is intended as rhombus formwork.
The interior fittings of the sauna will be carried out by sauna builders on site.
Furthermore, a pergola is planned in the sauna garden.
