For the interior renovation of the east wing (former alumnat) as part of the art museum Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen in order to ensure that it is used as required.
The entire art museum monastery of Our Lady consists of the monastery church, the west wing, the north wing and the east wing. The monastery is one of the most important and valuable architectural monuments in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The east wing, an annex to accommodate the former alumnate of the pedagogy, was built in 1848-52 by the Prussian-royal city architect Johann Heinrich L'Hermet in neo-Romanesque form as a brick building and is now to be repaired indoors.
The former alumni building is a 3-storey building with a rolled gable roof. It has a full basement and a rectangular floor plan. The exterior design was subordinate to the use of the building. The respective rooms are accessed via a central corridor. Associated with this wing are the rooms facing the Elbe, which adjoin the lower and upper cloisters.
Due to the exposed location, the wing of the building has a defining influence on the cityscape.
It currently houses the administration of the museum. In the recent past, the facade has been renovated, all windows renewed and the roof repaired or partially rebuilt.
According to spatial planning, the functions have to be rearranged on a usable area of approx. The wing should be renovated in the existing building. In future, all economic and administrative functions, offices, workshops and depots as well as the area of museum education will be housed in the east wing. The structural and technical equipment is in urgent need of renovation.
The following measures are planned:
- reorganization of the functional areas and creation of the respective framework conditions required for the planned uses,
- renewal of the doors including adjustment of the openings,
- revision of the staircase,
