The Jan Yperman Hospital is a modern, high-tech hospital with 532 beds, with 1,300 employees and 130 doctors.
The IT infrastructure is hosted in 2 core data centers DC1 and DC6 are located in the same building, but on a different floor and are connected with a 100Gbps connection (100 meters away).
There is a third data center in Aalst with a 500 Mbps bandwidth to the core data centers and without local breakout. This data center will move to Diksmuide, the bandwidth to the core data centers has not yet been determined.
The server infrastructure consists of a 1 VMware farm with 26 servers (in an HPE blade configuration) in 1 vCenter, with 4 clusters (prod/oracle/db/test), with approximately 525 VMS, in an active-active configuration and metrocluster functionality across the 2 core data centers. Each data center can carry the entire server load.
