The Danish Environmental Protection Agency has carried out a screening of water bodies from the River Basin Management Plan 2021-2027 and selected a number of water bodies that are considered candidates for further assessment of whether the basis for designation as heavily modified water bodies is present. This has resulted in 175 water bodies being assessed as such candidates. In order to assess whether individual candidates can be identified as heavily modified, a detailed analysis of each of the water bodies must be carried out.
The purpose of this tender is to carry out an assessment of the impact on the riparian areas and their potential use if restoration efforts are carried out to achieve the environmental objectives of the water bodies. The assessment shall be carried out using a method for assessing the land and drainage consequences of river restoration (Annexes 1B and 1C), as well as a description of the method - other land use (Annex 1D). The task includes the analysis of up to 175 water bodies (527 km), including obtaining the information necessary for carrying out the analysis, so that the water bodies are analysed on a fully informed basis (Annex 1A). The number of water bodies analysed is part of the scoring, but at least 125 water bodies must be analysed, evenly distributed across Denmark.
