Description:

The Contractor shall provide the Services for an Alcohol Diversion Scheme to enable the Force to exercise discretion to provide the Forces' Custody Units with an alternative rehabilitation solution for an adult offender, who has been arrested for alcohol related offences.

The aim of the Scheme is to achieve a reduction in the level of alcohol fuelled crime and the possibility of reoffending, to minimise the risk to the individuals and the wider community.


Provision of an Alcohol Diversion Scheme — South Wales Police

The Contractor shall provide the Services for an Alcohol Diversion Scheme (the ‘Scheme’) to enable the Force to exercise discretion to provide the Forces' Custody Units with an alternative rehabilitation solution for an adult offender, who has been arrested for alcohol related offences.

The aim of the Scheme is to achieve a reduction in the level of alcohol fuelled crime and the possibility of reoffending, to minimise the risk to the individuals and the wider community.

The Scheme shall be in the form of an interactive educational course, provided and delivered by the Contractor, at an off-site location within the local Force area.

The educational course shall be informative to the Service users, enabling them to learn and understand the effects, risks, awareness and implications that alcohol can have on a person, their life, victims and the wider public community.
