The Zeppelin Bridge consists of a five-span arched structure (built in 1914-1918), which crosses the Elster flood basin, and a single-span extension (built in 1936), designed as a reinforced concrete girder grid, which spans the bike / sidewalk adjoining to the east. The repair work includes the replacement of the end walls and the construction of a new load-distributing plate. Construction is to be carried out in 2 to 3 construction phases. The first construction phase is to be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2022.
The engineering office König und Heunisch Planungsgesellschaft mbH Leipzig has developed 3 variants as part of the preliminary planning, which are currently being coordinated in the VTA.
The chargeable costs are based on EUR 3,500,000.00.
The following planning and engineering services are awarded in a first stage:
- Project planning engineering structures according to HOAI § 43 LP 3 to 4 and special services;
- Structural planning according to HOAI § 51 LP 3 to 4 and special services.
