Situation sketch
OPZ Geel has 1 campus with about 30 buildings spread over switched ethernet in a star architecture based on Cisco switches (being phased out) and Aruba switches. In addition to the switched Ethernet, a global WIFI infrastructure has also been developed - within the buildings - based on Cisco (being phased out) and Aruba Access Points. The routing between the various VLANs is not realized via the switches, but via the central firewall infrastructure.
Order
The essence of the assignment is to provide a high-performance and reliable LAN in collaboration with OPZ's ICT service.
The service provider will be responsible for monitoring and second-line support of OPZ Geel's ICT service in managing and further developing this LAN:
1) Managed services, advice and consultancy:
• monitor architecture of the switched ethernet network (optimal configuration switching and mutual
• connectivity, VLAN definitions, Radius authentication, ...
• monitor the architecture of the WIFI infrastructure (determine optimal location of APs, controller,
• access modalities (SSIDs) and relationship with VLAN assignments etc ...
• proactive monitoring of the proper functioning of the entire data network
• Version management of the software on the switches and WiFi components (follow-up and systematic installation of versions, bug fixes, firmware, ...
• Support and troubleshooting for network-related problems (connectivity outages or interruptions, ...)
• Replacement of defective switches within a specified time (SLA)
• Replacement of WIFI APs
• Follow up EOL of installed equipment
• Consultancy and advice extension with regard to the implementation of a phased rollout for the renewal / migration of the LAN, based on a risk analysis
2) progressive replacement of EOL material; installations new material:
• scheduled replacements at EOL
• extensions to the network in connection with possible renovations or new construction projects
• The central firewall infrastructure does not fall within this assignment.
