Description:
National Physical Laboratory requires a walk-in environmental chamber to support the evaluation of low-cost gas sensors for air quality monitoring, with specific temperature and humidity control requirements, and the need to fit within the existing laboratory space.
Walk-in Environmental Chamber.
The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) requirement is for a walk-in environmental chamber to host its Multiple Atmosphere Controlled Environment (MACE), a purpose-built facility designed to evaluate the performance of low-cost gas sensors for air quality monitoring. The environmental walk-in chamber will deliver temperature and humidity control for all tests that the MACE facility supports.
The setup needs to fit within the existing laboratory space available at NPL. Liaising with NPL Estates will be necessary to decommission the environmental chamber currently in the lab, and to prepare the laboratory for the installation of the new one.
The asset must be able to
1) allow temperature and relative humidity control over the desired range;
2) allow automation over a series of set points for autonomous operation.
