The Upper Hessian Museum Giessen presents a comprehensive collection at its 3 locations Altes Schloss (AS), Leibian's House (LH) and Wallenfels' House (WH) (all cultural monuments). Taking into account a new space program and monument protection, the implementation of structural measures for accessibility and compliance with fire protection, was used, among other things, to implement construction measures for accessibility and compliance with fire protection.

The subject of this VGV procedure is LPH 1 to 4 in terms of specialist planner services structural engineering, i.e. foundation determination, pre-planning, design and approval planning (if and where necessary). A building application is required. Furthermore, the implementation of LPH 5 and 6 for the overall measure, i.e. execution planning and preparation for the award, are part of the specialist planner's service.

The university city of Giessen is planning the redesign of the Upper Hessian Museum. The object of the contract is the renovation and conversion of Wallenrock and

Leibian's house. Structural engineering must plan and implement the design statically in the two existing buildings and the newly added intermediate structure, taking into account the historical preservation aspects. It is particularly important to have extensive experience with buildings in the stock in general and in dealing with historical timber structures in particular. With regard to the performance of structural engineering, this VGV procedure is the implementation of LPH 1-4 and 5-6 for the overall measure, i.e. the basis determination, preliminary planning, design and approval planning, execution planning and preparation for the award.

The project is funded by the investment program of the WI Bank of the State of Hesse “Hessenkasse”. The eligibility criteria must be observed when handling the construction project. The performance acceptance and final accounting must be carried out by December 31, 2024.
