Object planning services for traffic facilities in accordance with Part 3, Section 4 HOAI, service phases 1-5 in the course of the construction of cycle path connections in the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf
The district committee of the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf, represented by the department office of the district administrator, intends to implement the following cycle path connections:
- Route 1: Caldern-Kernbach along the K 75 (LT3)
Ausbaulänge: ca. 1.367 m
- Route 2: Emsdorf-Burgholz along the K 12 (KI08)
Ausbaulänge: ca. 2.355 m
- Route 3: Hermershausen-Neuhöfe along the K 68 (MAR17)
Ausbaulänge: 2.300 m
- Route 4: Neuhöfe-Ockershausen along the K 68 (MAR24)
Ausbaulänge: ca. 475 m
- Route 5: Roth-Wolfshausen (variant investigation – in the area of the K 59 and the B 3)
Extension length: between approx. 1,100 m and 2,300 m depending on the variant
Description of measures for path 1: Caldern-Kernbach along the K 75
The project is a plan to optimize the current route. The section to be expanded is part of the Lahn Valley Cycle Path and runs along the K75 between the districts of Caldern and Kernbach in the municipality of Lahntal. The new route is intended to unbundle traffic on the K75 and create a cycling service between the two districts that is suitable for everyday use.
The cycle path is the only way for the people of Kernbach to get to Caldern by bike and thus to get access to shopping facilities and public transport. The cycle route from Biedenkopf to Marburg also runs over this section of the route.
When planning, it must be taken into account that the section of route to be planned is located in a fauna-flora-habitat area (FFH area) and that the area is also being planned by the municipality of Lahntal in a separate cycling development plan. In this case, separate coordination with the municipality and, if necessary, third parties to be involved is required.
Description of measures for path 2: Emsdorf-Burgholz along the K12
The project is a plan for the unbundling of traffic on the K12 between the Kirchhain districts of Burgholz and Emsdorf. The aim is to create a direct and topographically attractive connection between the two districts. From Burgholz, cycling is connected to the national main cycling network via Emsdorf. The connection provides safe access to the railway station and the main cycle network as well as to the workplaces in Stadtallendorf.
There is a spatial connection with the measure to build a cycle path along the K12 (KI10/STA12 – execution expected to end in September 2024). The trail connects the Wohra Valley to Kirchhain and Stadtallendorf. The traffic on the K12 is very fast. The connection from Burgholz to Emsdorf also has a gradient, which makes the use of the district road coming from Emsdorf even more dangerous for cyclists.
The planning of this measure is related to the implementation of the district-wide cycling development plan of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district. There it is defined under the measure number KI08.
Description of measures for route 3: Hermershausen-Neuhöfe along the K 68
A roadside cycle path is planned here. The cycle path is intended to create a connection between the Marburg district of Hermershausen and the core city of Marburg and to increase the proportion of bicycle commuters from the western districts to the city centre. This measure follows on from the MAR24 measure (see path 7) of the Cycling Development Plan (RVEP), which connects the western districts with the core city.
The K68 is quite a wide road, but car traffic here is quite fast at about 120 km/h. Due to the high speed, the cycle path should be structurally separated from the road if possible. It is possible that the width of the existing road could be taken back.
The planning of this measure is related to the implementation of the district-wide cycling development plan of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district. There it is defined under the measure number MAR17.
Description of measures for route 4: Neuhöfe-Ockershausen along the K 68
Creation of a roadside cycle path along the K68 from Hermannstraße coming from Marburg-Ockershausen to Marburg-Neuhöfe. This measure is related to measures MAR23, MAR9, MAR25 and follows on from measure MAR17 (see path 6), which is also part of this negotiated procedure.
The measure is intended to ensure the connection of the western districts to the core city.
Riding on this route is currently very dangerous for cyclists, especially uphill. In the area of the junction to Cyriaxweimar, the gradient is about 6-7%.
The planning of this measure is related to the implementation of the district-wide cycling development plan of the Marburg-Biedenkopf district. There it is defined under the measure number MAR24.
Description of measures for the variant investigation Path 5: Roth-Wolfshausen
The measure provides for the creation of a cycle path connection from Wolfshausen to Roth in the area of the K59 and the B3 that is suitable for everyday use.
Initially, it was planned to connect to the FN6 / W7 cycle path in the west and to connect through Roth (along the Lahn) and over the bridge over the B3 to the existing farm road in the area of the Weimar-Wolfshausen motocross track in the direction of Wolfshausen.
Due to the bridge structure to be crossed, a variant analysis is to be carried out in anticipation of the planning of this measure in order to investigate alternative routes to optimize the cycle path.
In particular, the connection of the cycle path along the K59 and through the existing underpass near Wolfshausen must be subjected to a variant investigation.
For this measure, service phases 1 and 2 form part of the proposed commissioning. Variants need to be investigated with which the AG and its political committees can make a decision on further project planning.
In the course of the development of the sub-measures of paths 1 to 5, the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf had an initial rough cost estimate prepared by HS-Ingenieure GmbH, Linden. These documents, as well as small overview maps of the cycle path connections to be planned in the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf, are made available in the present procedure.
It is intended to commission the planning services of the transport facilities in accordance with Part 3, Section 4 HOAI for service phases 1 to 5 of the aforementioned routes 2 to 4 in their entirety and for service phases 1 and 2 of the aforementioned route 5 as a whole. For path 1, a step-by-step commissioning is planned, which initially provides for the commissioning of service phases 1 and 2.
