Hyndevad's waterworks is Eskilstuna municipality's largest waterworks, which was commissioned as early as 1915. Drinking water is produced here and every year more than 9 million m3 of drinking water is produced for about 90,000 of Eskilstuna's inhabitants.

A policy decision has been made by EEM's board that the waterworks will be equipped with an additional process step for pre-treatment of the water consisting of chemical precipitation and lamella sedimentation.
