Description:
Applied R&D on EGNSS Authentication

Provision of support engineering services. Wide use of global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) in civilian, security, defence applications and the growing dependence on them within critical infrastructure has highlighted the need for protection against vulnerability due to intentional or unintentional interference sources. The European Commission (EC) is currently specifying the long-term evolution of the European GNSS (EGNSS) programme, including new services for Galileo and EGNOS:

— Galileo Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) is a data authentication function that provides receivers with the assurance that the received Galileo navigation message is coming from the system itself and has not been modified;

— EGNOS is currently assessing authentication solutions.
