Statsbygg would like to establish up to 240 student residences split between three construction stages, of which the last construction stage with up to 80 bed-sits is an option. The bed-sits are to be constructed in Fjelldal in Tjeldsund Municipality. The intention is to ensure accommodation for students at the new vocational college for fire and rescue personnel. The student accommodation are to be constructed as part of the campus for the Fire and Rescue College, which will consist of both a vocational college and course activities. The contracting authority is the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (JD) and the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection (DSB). The new buildings must be neutral and robust and designed with an emphasis on area and cost efficiency and functionality for students of the vocation college.
