The Deggendorf Water Management Office is planning flood protection for the Hengersberger Ohe
Hengersberger Ohe left. The aim is to protect against a 100-year flood event in the polder
Niederalteich/Hengersberg. For this purpose, the engineering service of the local construction supervision is put out to tender.
It is planned to start the measure in August 2023.
The villages of Hengersberg and Niederalteich are affected by the flooding of the Danube (waters of the first order) and
endangers the natural flooding of the Hengersberger Ohe (waters of the second order).
The measure (length approx. 3.8km) represents due to many planning constraints and the spatial proximity to the
existing buildings represent a complex task.
Components of the planned flood protection are:
- Raising existing in earthworks
- HWS wall mounted on foundation steel sheet pile walls in confined conditions
- mobile elements
- Dike crossings and special structures
