The domain is owned by the municipality of Duffel. The Kempens Landscape organization entered into a management agreement with the board to revalorize the domain and acts as a client. The client wishes to restore the castle island and the Ter Elst castle ruin recognized as a monument, as well as the surrounding recognized cultural landscape in two phases.
After restoration, the ruin should be accessible to visitors who can get acquainted with the current building and its centuries-long history. In addition, the ruin and its surroundings must be adapted to better use as an event location.
The designer must make a preliminary design for both phases. For the restoration of the castle end (phase 1), the designer must coordinate the necessary preliminary studies, whereby research grants are requested if applicable. Based on the results of this, the designer must draw up a complete restoration file for the restoration of the castle island (phase 1), including design safety coordination and compile the file for the application of a heritage premium special procedure.
If sufficient resources are available and a heritage premium has been obtained, the execution of the works will also be further supervised by the designer. This includes the further elaboration of the file on techniques, the preparation and obtaining of the necessary permits and permits and the preparation of the tender documents as well as the site supervision, including implementation of safety coordination. The elaboration of the second phase can then follow under the same conditions.
