The Trust is embarking on a programme of Fire Code Works, upgrading existing buildings to ensure the integrity of fire compliance throughout. The Trust is looking to appoint 2 contractors to provide the required building works as part of a rolling programme of work. Bidders will be expected to demonstrate experience and capability in working in an operational healthcare environment and an understanding of the challenges that this presents to work of this nature.
The Trust is embarking on a programme of Fire Code Works, upgrading existing buildings to ensure the integrity of fire compliance throughout. The works will include the following (this list is not exhaustive):
— fire stopping along 60-minute fire compartments,
— fire stopping along 30-minute subcompartments and hazard rooms,
— installation of ceiling void cavity barriers,
— installation of fire and smoke dampers,
— ventilation ductwork cleaning,
— electrical fire alarm/interface works,
— distribution board upgrades,
— remedial works and replacement of fire doors,
— emergency lighting and general lighting replacement,
— replacement ceilings that are impacted by fire works,
— redecoration,
— new build/refurbishment healthcare facilities to create suitable decant space for fire code works,
— demolition and refurbishment asbestos surveys.
