East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust has identified a requirement for a single Medical Device Equipment Management Database Solution to support the Trust in the whole life-cycle management of medical devices in accordance with DB2006(05). The application will be required to manage and record details of all medical device-related work within the organisation. The application will also be expected to integrate with other Trust systems including the electronic staff record.

(ESR) and electronic patient records (ePR) systems. Furthermore, the application will need to be capable of interfacing with RFID location tracking technologies. The application must also be capable of management reporting to assist with the financial planning and risk management of future medical device procurement and compliance with healthcare standards.
