The project involves a reinvestment in about 30 parking spaces at Arlanda Pier A, Pier B and Pier C. The oldest parts of the airport's ramps were built in the mid and 70s. Since then, few major reinvestments in the infrastructure have been carried out, which means that several parts of the infrastructure have approached their technical lifetime and need to be replaced.
Stage 1 includes 10 code C and one code E locations with an intermediate ramp area, a total of about 85,000 square meters. The project includes reinvestment in stormwater including facilities for collection of glycol-contaminated water, transport systems for aircraft fuel, drinking water pipes as well as concrete and asphalt surfaces. In parallel with this, the piers that connect to the aircraft will also be replaced, these will be connected to 11 new buildings with stairs and elevator (about 200 m2 each) and walkways towards the terminal (between 20 and 45 meters long).
