The "BonaRes - Center for Soil Research" project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the "National Research Strategy Bioeconomy 2030" through the initiative "Soil as a sustainable resource for the bioeconomy - BonaRes". In July 2017, the BonaRes Repository was launched as a central data infrastructure for soil and soil-related research data and data from long-term agricultural field trials (DFV). The repository is to be expanded with the soil profile database in order to specifically record soil profile data (separate web application) and edit it if necessary. The soil profile data will then be made available again to the scientific community via the BonaRes repository. This part of the tender focuses on the acquisition of soil profile data in a user-friendly, modern web application that supports researchers in entering KA5, KA4 or KA3-compliant soil profile data.
A user-friendly, web-based open source application is to be developed for the acquisition of the soil profile data, which implements the corporate design of the BonaRes project. This web application is used only to collect data that can either be entered directly by researchers or imported using a structured text file (e.g. XML or JSON). Furthermore, for the purpose of data curation, soil profile data already entered should be able to be edited by editors from the BonaRes data center. The soil profile database (BP-DB) has the goal of enabling dynamic data citation and has to implement the necessary requirements. A database schema was developed for the acquisition of soil profile data, which is used and can be expanded to implement the requirement of dynamic data citation.
