In the Stenenbrug, Kruisdam, Calaignestraat, side street Rechtstraat and in the Rechtstraat itself (between the Hoekstraat and the Calaignestraat) there is currently no sewerage. The houses drain into (whether or not piped) canals, so that the drainage is therefore not optimal, which can result in pollution in the canals and watercourses. Moreover, the road surface of the Rechtstraat, Stenenbrug and Kruisdam is not in the same condition everywhere, just like the cycle path in the Rechtstraat.

In the meantime, the appointed designer has drawn up the final design, together with the tender bundle.

The specifications provide for the assignment to be carried out in 2 phases. For this reason, the assignment was divided into a fixed and a conditional part, more specifically:

Fixed part:

• Rechtstraat (house nos. 291-425) + first part Stenenbrug (= first 150 m – to house no. 3),

Conditional part:

• Calaignestraat + Kruisdam + remaining part Stenenbrug (past house no. 3) + separate part of Rechtstraat (house nos. 194-204).

The conditional part will not be ordered until the next legislature.
