Bergdala glassworks was founded in 1989. Over the years, a number of different glass products have been manufactured at the glassworks. During manufacturing, a number of substances containing heavy metals have been included in the process, such as arsenic and lead. These substances are present in high concentrations in the area.

SGU acts as the principal for preparatory investigations and design at the Bergdala glassworks object.

SGU requests design and preparatory investigations at Bergdala glassworks. The main purpose of the preparation of measures is to prepare the site as far as possible for future remediation measures through additional studies and design (see Annex 07.5).
