Background:

The Council has approximately 4 400 Council Homes. 90 % of all responsive repairs and 100 % of all minor works to these homes are carried out by the in-house repairs and maintenance team. In each of the last 2 financial years, this has equated to approximately 10 000 works orders issued across all trades.

The team also carry out remedial works to 360 empty homes (voids) each year and is to deliver an additional 4 000 000 GBP of planned improvement works to Council homes each year for the next 4 years, including around 85 re-roofs per annum.

The value of the contract is estimated to be in the region of 400 000 GBP — 420 000 GBP over the 4-year period. However, it is stressed that the nature and scope of work is demand-led and that the Council cannot give any guarantee as to the future values of works carried out under this agreement, including any minimum level or value of works the successful supplier will receive during the contract period.
