Description:
Restoration of Aushaw Moss

The objective of this Contract is to deliver works on an upland site in the West Pennine Moors, within the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen. The aim of the work is to re-wet and revegetate bare peat, restore hydrology, and increase biodiversity on the site. The work will contribute to shifting this part of the West Pennine Moors SSSI from unfavourable recovering to favourable status. The project will also be used to involve local people in restoration works and to introduce them to the biodiversity and landscape of the West Pennine Moors.
