This commission will support Transport Scotland (the Scottish Government's national transport agency) and the Scottish Government in undertaking its role in assisting Scottish Ministers to fulfil their duties under the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2008 and their duties in relation to Development Planning under Planning Circular 1/2009.
Transport Scotland is responsible for the entire Scottish Trunk Road Network and other Transport Infrastructure, and review and approval of all development plans relating to the network and infrastructure.
The contract duration is for a period of 3 years commencing in late 2013, with an option to extend up to a maximum of a further 1 year at the discretion of the Scottish Ministers.
The consultants will provide audit and advisory support to and report to the Development Planning Team within the Trunk Road and Bus Operations Directorate of Transport Scotland on all aspects of the development planning and management processes as required.
