Object planning for buildings according to § 33 ff HOAI LPH 4 to LPH 8
The aim of the tender is to find an architect for the planning from service phase 4 and implementation for the construction of a new bicycle parking garage at the main station in Heidelberg. The services of service phases 1 to 3 have already been provided and can be viewed by the client.
The forecourt of the main station has so far been determined by a large number of parked bicycles. The restructuring of the square provides for new solutions to make the movement and recreation rooms more attractive for pedestrians.
To facilitate environmentally friendly mobility and commuting, a new square, the city balcony, with a bicycle garage underneath is to be built at the western end of the station grounds, so that traffic safety on the forecourt for pedestrians on the sidewalks and squares around the station is increased.
The city balcony is being built as a new space between the new buildings of Deutsche Bahn and the hotel. Cyclists can reach the bicycle parking garage one level below via a circular ramp, pedestrians via a spiral staircase and are thus located directly on the level of track 1 and a short and direct way to the tracks is possible.
General description:
The spiral ramp with a 7.2% gradient serves as the main access for cyclists to the parking garage. It is located in the middle between the new hotel building and the planned new deutsche Bahn building. The entrance to the ramp in the north of the square is oriented in such a way that the entrance is visible both from the west and from the east and is spatially perceived by passing cyclists, so that the access is clearly visible even without signs. Next to the ramp entrance there is an additional staircase for pedestrians.
In a circular left turn, the ramp turns one floor lower into the bicycle garage. It overcomes the height difference of about 4.80m from the square level to the track level, describes in its rotation 420° of a circle with a diameter of 21m. Along the running line, the ramp is about 65m long.
Once in the basement, an easy-to-use locking system leads to the area of the parking facilities.
Within the parking areas there are main paths, which have a width of 3.50 and from there are paths to the parking facilities with a width of 2.15m.
The natural lighting of the parking garage takes place on one side through the section of the ramp and on the other side to the tracks openings in the façade are planned. In addition, a bright color and light guidance system should contribute to a pleasant atmosphere and make it easier to find your own bike.
An area of 50m² for an office, technology (PC and video technology) and cleaning is provided in the area of the locking system.

On the city balcony, 72 parking spaces on bicycle support brackets are planned on the outer ramp arch in addition to the existing brackets and the Nextbike facility along the footpath.
In the basement, various systems for parking the wheels are provided. Double-decker parkers on both sides are combined with single-storey facilities. In addition, bicycle boxes and lockers are planned.
The main paths in the bicycle parking garage have a width of 3.50m.
