The aim of the wheelchair service is to provide high quality assessment and provision of wheelchair equipment, postural management, pressure relief cushioning to children and adults and maintenance service within the following clinical commissioning groups in Staffordshire: Cannock Chase CCG, East Staffordshire CCG, North Staffordshire CCG, Stafford and Surrounds CCG, South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsular CCG, Stoke on Trent CCG.

The service will provide assessment, maintenance and repairs as required and associated education delivered at home, within clinical settings or within venues agreed by the service users.

The key objectives of this service are:

— High patient, carer and referrer satisfaction;

— The patient will be provided with the necessary and appropriate equipment to meet their clinical needs, in line with the service specification.
