The contract includes the acquisition of a Geographical Information System (GIS) for Norlys. In addition to the acquisition of the Geographic Information System, the contract also includes the conversion of data from two current GIS systems.
GIS is used at Contracting Regiver primarily for recording and maintaining geographical data on the infrastructure of the electricity distribution network, as well as supporting geographical data, including basic data, cadastral data and data from other publicly available geographical registers.
Data is used in the context of projecting, analyzing and reporting. Data is exhibited both internally and externally through web services for WebGIS, Desktop-GIS, and websites.
In addition, contracting entities make use of mobile apps for viewing, recording and editing data in the field, as well as 3rd party solutions where GIS data or apps are integrated fully or partially into solutions.

In addition to the acquisition of the Geographic Information System, the contract also includes the conversion of data from two current GIS systems. The contract contains a framework contract-like element whereby the contracting entity may obtain consultancy services on an ad hoc basis after a period of time.
