The Fraunhofer project group Business Information Systems Fit for Applied Information Technology is established at the locations in Augsburg and Bayreuth. For the project group's scientifically sound business informatics expertise, which is indispensable for the development of solutions for digitalization in Germany and is an ideal complement to the Fraunhofer IUK network's broad range of topics, is planned to build a new building with special research facilities (e.g. workshops and software laboratories, showrooms, presentation and seminar subjects, co-working spaces, creative and experimental environments, test tracks for robots and others). So that the research activities in the (e.g.

mobility sector, energy sector, smart cities; financial sector) can be executed at the highest level. EUR 24 million from 25% federal 25% state and 50% ERDF funds are earmarked for the realization of the building (21 million) with EA (3 million).

The measure with approx. 2 083 m 2 NF, as a workplace for 148 employees, is composed as follows: NF1 housing and stay 60 m 2; NF 2 office work 1 499 m 2; NF 3 production, hand and machine work, experiment model 220 m 2; NF 4 warehouses, distributing, selling 112 m 2; NF 5 Education, Teaching, Culture 180m2; NF 6 Healing and Care.

The new building is to be realized in close proximity to the existing FhG IPA. The property in Bayreuth already exists.

For an institute building as a new building for Fraunhofer fit in Bayreuth as part of a grant measure according to RzBau.

The new building is a workplace for 148 employees. Public party traffic is not foreseen.

The required space requirement was estimated at approx. 2 083 square meters of usable area 1-6. An economic relationship between GFA to NF and from BRI to NF is expected.

Office space, seminar rooms, meeting rooms, IT server rooms and small scale laboratory space are to be created predominantly. In addition, areas for demonstration, warehouses, archives and social rooms are provided.
