According to the DWD Act, the German Weather Service (DWD) is responsible for weather monitoring within Germany. Snow depth is an essential parameter of hydrometeorology and is therefore measured at all full-time DWD measuring stations. The aim of the measure is to replace all DWD snow depth sensors at the full-time soil measuring stations.

The object of the procurement is the delivery of snow depth sensors in accordance with the specifications. For the delivery of the snow depth sensors, the conclusion of a framework contract with a term of 10 years (2023 - 2032) including extension options is planned. The minimum purchase quantity for the year 2023 is 207 pieces. For the following years, only estimated purchase quantities and maximum purchase quantities without obligation to purchase are indicated. The maximum purchase quantity is a maximum of 335 pieces.
