As part of an international research project, FAIR GmbH is planning the construction of the new accelerator complex “FAIR” (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) - hereinafter referred to as FAIR project - with a connection to the existing GSI accelerator facility.
The subject matter of the present award procedure is the services for the roofing, plumbing and roof greening of the southern plant area (VE_300-039).
A material price adjustment clause is agreed for the substances in accordance with Annex B180 (VHB225).
The object of the contract is the execution of roof waterproofing work, in each case as a warm roof structure, essentially consisting of vapour barrier, thermal insulation, bituminous roof waterproofing and the installation of green roofs with different roof greening structures and heights.
Pitched roof areas with a roof pitch of 30-40° as well as internal, trapped roof surfaces and areas of technical equipment installations are also designed as warm roofs with gravel covering.
Furthermore, building constructions such as roof edge backsplashes made of handcrafted steel sheets, collision protection and wall coverings made of expanded metal elements are to be carried out on wall consoles, support consoles and slope grate systems.
Also included are plumbing and metal construction work, thermal insulation and plaster work, the installation of skylights, smoke vents, louvre hoods and heat extraction towers.
The assembly and dismantling of fall protection / scaffolding / stair towers for the execution of own work and services of third parties as well as production and dismantling of makeshift roof waterproofing and emergency drainage to secure the intermediate construction conditions.
In addition, the execution of the drainage and fall protection systems is necessary.

1. Roof waterproofing work
- approx. 13,450 m2 roof structure consisting of vapour barrier bitumen membrane, thermal barrier layers made of PS rigid foam and foam glass, roof waterproofing with 2- or 3-layer high-quality polymer bitumen welding sheets, partly on inclined and curved roof surfaces
- approx. 2,120 m roof edge formation, in the form of connection to precast attics with edge plank profiles, steel angles and steel angle plates, partly on inclined and curved roof edges
- Leak tests of the roof waterproofing by electropulse method
2. Dismantling work
- approx. 380 m2 dismantling and disposal full-surface temporary waterproofing bitumen membrane
- Dismantling and disposal of temporary waterproofing of bitumen membrane via openings and openings
