The object of the invitation to tender is a laboratory scale integrated adsorption/absorption system for gas separation.
Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT) School of Engineering Science (LENS) has expertise in Separation Processes from lab to pilot scales. Recently, LUT has planned to focus on gas separation research to turn air emissions into value-added products. For this aim, LUT desires to expand its lab infrastructure to include research related to gas separation, including absorption, adsorption set ups. The proposed set up will be used for experiments such as CO2 capture, air pollution control, and industrial gas separation projects. This set-up should be able to safely operating experiments at laboratory scale in a container type lab space and should fulfil all the requirements described in the minimum criteria.
The desired experimental set-up has to be able to separate different gas and vapor mixtures using contrasts in their adsorption (mainly) and absorption (optional) potentials onto solids and in liquids, respectively. The set-up can mix desired gas composition from pure gases and vapors for the feed stream, measure and control the flows of the feed stream and calculate the breakthrough conditions and effectiveness of the sorbent for different gas and vapor components.
