Open procedure design competition in two degrees, for the acquisition of the technical and economic feasibility project of the best technical proposal aimed at improving the safety conditions of the provincial roads falling in the urban areas of the hinterland of the city of L'Aquila. The Contracting Authority reserves the right, after finding the necessary economic resources, to entrust the winner of the competition, the realization of the subsequent levels for the final design, executive design, supervision of the works and safety coordination during the design and execution phase, with a negotiated procedure referred to in Article 63, paragraph 4, of Legislative Decree no. 50/2016, for an amount provided for as a basis of the tender equal to € 617,316.97 for professional fees.

The competition aims to select the best project proposal that allows to achieve the following objectives defined taking into account those established by Article 12, paragraph 6, of Decree Law n.121 / 21, in the sections of provincial roads falling within the urban areas of the Municipality of L'Aquila:

• Improve the characteristics of road infrastructure and safety in urban or semi-urban areas with particular reference to vulnerable users, also with forecasts that favor sustainable mobility;

• Reduce speed differences between vulnerable users and motor vehicles, in order to increase mutual visibility, decrease the severity of impacts and, consequently, reduce or eliminate mortality on provincial roads;

• Technological modernization and implementation of advanced signalling and monitoring systems for greater safety of the road infrastructure.
