A design and build contractor is required to deliver Sheffield College's proposed Performing Arts Centre and Engineering Centre projects. The projects are located on two separate sites within the city. Both projects must be open for September 2015 in line with the funder's requirements (Skills Funding Agency).

This new Performing Arts Centre will create a 2 storey extension of approximately 3 400 m². The building will benefit from increased capacity at entrances, resolving existing access/egress constraints for both pedestrians and vehicles, and a separate entrance for out-of-hours performances and public use for drama groups. The existing Horticulture facilities are to be relocated to connect the Performing Arts with the Landscape.

The new Engineering Centre of approximately 2 500 m² will comprise three storeys of teaching with a 4th storey for catering facilities, maximizing views across the city. The building will be the ‘heart' of the centre, featuring a single entrance, robust finishes and will showcase Renewable and Sustainable Technologies both as a learning

resource and to improve energy performance of the development.
