Description:

Gallium-68 PET/CT imaging is a new diagnostic tool used for the detection and localisation of neuroendocrine tumours and prostate cancers using a number of Gallium-68 labelled radiopharmaceuticals. University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) are seeking to set-up and start a Gallium-68 (Ga-68) service within an established Nuclear Medicine Department. The department operates under an MHRA Manufacturer’s Specials Licence. The existing cleanroom facility within the Nuclear Medicine Radiopharmacy will be modified to include a shielded hot cell/isolator suitable for the manufacture and dispensing of Ga-68 based radiopharmaceuticals and with the potential to label other medical isotopes, such as Lutetium-177 (Lu-177).

Gallium-68 generator for the supply of sterile radioactive Gallium-68 chloride

A GMP compliant Germanium-68 / Gallium-68 generator for the supply of sterile radioactive Gallium-68 chloride to be used for the manufacturing and preparation of Gallium-68 PET radiopharmaceuticals. Full details of requirements are contained within the tender documents.

An automated synthesis unit for the manufacture of Gallium-68 and Lutetium-177 based radiopharmaceuticals.

An automated synthesis unit for the manufacture of Gallium-68 and Lutetium-177 based radiopharmaceuticals. System to operate using closed system disposable cassette devices for the mixing of reagents and reactions to be completed, minimising the risk of chemical and microbiological cross contamination. Full details of requirements are contained within the tender documents.

Pump module

Pump module must contain a single pump with quaternary mixing valve or binary pump to facilitate the use of 2 different solvents for gradient-HPLC, providing a mixed solvent flow rate of 0.01-10 ml/min with a minimum back pressure limit of 300 bar. HPLC unit must include a leak detection system. Full details of requirements are contained within the tender documents.
