Istekki Oy, 2M-it Oy and LaPit Oy (future In-house companies) implement the acquisition of modeling tools as a procurement ring. Tools are sourced as ready-made products as SaaS service. In-house companies aim through acquisition to develop their ability to support their customers in meeting modeling needs, as well as to be able to provide services related to the target area to their customers in a cost-effective manner.

The goal is to have In-house companies partner companies/corporate consortia that provide productized modeling tools as well as the services needed to use them. Partners are sought to implement and provide modeling solutions in four different areas:

Subdivision 1. Organizational Architecture Modeling and Describing Tools

Subdivision 2. Total Architecture and Solution Architecture Modeling Tools

Subdivision 3. Action Modeling Tools

Subdivision 4. Knowledge and Master Data Modeling Tools

For each subdivision, one vendor/tool is selected from which each In-house company can deploy modeling tools for its needs and offer them to its customers. The acquisition does not seek a modeling tool that can implement all aspects of the premise, but instead aims to acquire the modeling tool (and supplier) that best meets the need for each subdivision. However, the bidder may submit its offer to several different areas, however, so that the bids and solutions submitted to the different subdivisions may not be linked technically, contractually or in terms of licensing.

Although the tools in the various aspects of procurement are seen as distinct in principle, they must be integrated closely with each other and with other information systems that contain the information used in modeling. The objective is to establish an interoperable, dynamic and appropriate ensemble of modeling tools and the Master data information systems used in modeling (for example, CMDB for information systems). It is also possible that entities serving different needs are formed from the information systems subject to acquisition, mirroring the baseline and functional need of the user organisation.

The services of the acquisition may be used in the future by In-house companies, in addition to all customer owners of In-house companies. For customer-specific service deployments, separate contracts are entered into in accordance with the principles described in the call for tender and the attached procurement and service contract bases. In-house companies act as a service integrator in the acquisition, assembling a set of solutions, technologies, specialists and partner agreements for customers. At the same time, it is ensured that vendor and/or technology readings may be associated with the target area are not generated.
