The Central Building Management of the City of Krefeld is building a tool shed for the volunteer fire brigade and rescue service in Krefeld-Traar for Department 37 - Fire Brigade and Civil Defence.
The planned new building consists of two opposite, self-sufficient main structures, which are connected to each other via a 2-storey "connector".
The new building encloses the inner alarm courtyard in a U-shape.
In the southwest is the rescue station (rescue service RD), in the northeast the volunteer fire brigade (FFW) with vehicle halls and social wing. In detail, the system consists of the following components:
- FFW vehicle hall with 4 parking spaces, washing hall, and 2-storey social wing
- RD vehicle hall with 3 parking spaces, 2-storey with social wing as well as storage and technical areas
- 2-storey "connector" with technical and storage areas on the ground floor and a connecting corridor on the upper floor.
Separate supply systems are to be built for the two usage units of the property. The following list provides a rough description of the service to be provided:

- approx. 150 m insulation of heating cables and fittings within buildings made of mineral wool insulation shells and sheet metal sheathing with corresponding ancillary services DN15-DN50.
- approx. 260 m of insulation of heating cables and fittings within buildings made of mineral wool insulation shells plus aluminium coarse-grain sheathing with corresponding ancillary services DN15-DN50.
- approx. 1000 m insulation of heating cables and fittings within buildings made of mineral wool insulation shells with corresponding ancillary services DN15-DN50.
- Approx. 70 m of diffuse-tight insulation of refrigeration and solar thermal pipes together with moulded and built-in parts outside the building made of elastomeric insulating materials including weather-resistant sheet metal sheathing DN12-DN50
- Approx. 70 m diffuse-tight insulation of brine pipes together with moulded and built-in parts within the building made of synthetic rubber insulation materials DN12-DN50
- approx. 110 m² insulation of ventilation ducts and moulded parts within the building with insulation mats made of synthetic rubber with corresponding ancillary services, edge lengths L1/F1-L2/F2
- Approx. 100 m² insulation of ventilation ducts and fittings outside the building with mineral wool insulation mats and weather-resistant sheet metal sheathing, with corresponding ancillary services, edge lengths L1/F1-L2/F2
