New building B 14 Winnenden - Backnang/West, northern construction phase
BA 2.6 Murrtal Viaduct East incl. adaptation to the B14, noise barrier, rain clarifier 5
The Murr Valley Viaduct East (BW 7022 693) is the second bridge structure to be built as part of the B14. On this structure runs the directional carriageway Schwäbisch Hall. It comprises two lanes and one hard shoulder
as well as edge strips on each side.
The new structure to be built is to be built in the appearance of the existing bridge
(BW 7022 650). The visible component dimensions must therefore be identical to the existing bridge.
The bridge structure is manufactured as a 10-field semi-integral continuous beam with 2 main openings as an arched structure over the valley depression in prestressed concrete. The arches have a wingspan of 107.6 m each. The bridge has a total length of 394.60 m and a clear height of 28 m.
For the bridge structure, the adaptation areas of the B14 (including the entrance to the Backnang - Mitte junction in the direction of Schwäbisch Hall) are being built.
A noise barrier (BW 7022 694), which is part of this construction project, will be transferred to the new bridge to be built. The LSW starts about 85 m before the bridge and integrates behind the bridge into a noise barrier.
The construction of the Murrtal viaduct including noise protection wall, the connection to the B14 and the rain clarifier 5 (RKB 5) as well as a surge protection at the
western building.
