The European Parliament initiated the launching of a second preparatory action aiming to test the implementation of the ‘smart villages’ concept. The overall objective of the second preparatory action is to prepare the implementation of Smart Villages initiatives through the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) post-2020.

The contracting authority aims to establish a contract with a single contractor in order to conclude a second preparatory action on smart rural areas in the 21st century.
